Colorado Abandoned Newsletter V3

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our Latest Newsletter!
V3

Here we go!

Go to this YouTube link, start the music, then come back and continue on with the rest of the newsletter (doesn't work the best on mobile, but you will get the idea..).

Recorded Voice: Good morning/afternoon/evening, Mr./Miss/Mrs. Newsletter reader. Your mission Reader, should you choose/decide to accept it, is to read this newsletter to the end and then share it with 100+ of your closest friends, relatives and especially your worst enemies.

As always, should you or any of your kinfolk, friends, etc., be caught or killed, Colorado Abandoned will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Your computer/phone/smoke signals will self-destruct in five seconds.

Good luck, Reader!.

Disclaimer: The part about the self-destruct thing is totally made up (except for maybe the smoke signals).

Here are a couple of fun YouTube links from Mission Impossible, either for reference or nostalgia, depending on your age. https://youtu.be/AvBVGsd4Lzc and https://youtu.be/MA2KmJMKFrQ.

What can you expect to see in this issue!

We will keep you up-to-date with where we have been, where we will be next, how to get in contact with us, some new (and old) resources, a little levity, how to enter our first ever contest, a few requests, and more shameless self-promotion!

Put on your headlamps folks, and let's do some exploring!

    Contest

Everyone Loves a Contest, Right!? so we decided to have one. We will start our very first contest off with a chance to win an 11x14 frameable, signed, pearl finish print by Vincent from one of his Road 19 Excursions.

    How to Win:

Mission Impossible it is not. All you have to do is invite your friends to sign up for our newsletter through the end of July and have them mention your name as the referral. Whoever signs up the most friends, wins the print! Simple!

Just send them to our Contact (https://coloradoabandoned.com/contact) page and have them leave us a note saying that you referred them to the newsletter. Once they complete the signup, they too can do the exact same thing and be eligible to win

    Instagram FAVS!

"Keep it Fresh" they said, so that's what we are trying to do. In this section we will highlight a few of the instagram folks we follow at @coloradoabandoned. If you like our type of photography, we suggest you check these fine folks out and give them a follow.

@jill_koop creates some amazing photos with awesome edits from up north in Canada. Most of her photography seems to be taken in the Saskatchewan province and includes vehicles, old buildings, amazing landscapes and much much more. Jill's feed is a visual feast.

@jacksonfaulknernet has some of the most colorful, detailed and unusual captures with incredible edits, perspectives and... he really has a way of capturing detailed isolated areas of old machinery and miscellaneous. Oh, did I mention detailed? Wow!

@prairie_rubbish - Jen Collins hails from Alberta Canada. Mostly what we can say about her feed is Beautiful, just Beautiful! She has some of the most stunning landscapes we have seen and her portraiture work is just amazing. If you dig deep enough into her feed and run across some of her videos, you will find she also has a delightful sense of humor.

We may not always have this section in every newsletter, but when we do, we will find you the best of the best.

As mentioned, please give these folks a follow, and let them know you found about them from Colorado Abandoned.

    Dos Amigos

Photograph and Edit By Lex Nichols

Two friends waste away in the Colorado countryside. The rusted, metallic red of these Chevrolet pickup trucks illustrate memories from previous decades.  Rolling clouds and golden fields surround the dos amigos as a backdrop. The verde and rojo hues dance among each other interweaving and complementing the stillness. This dance sings a song of movement that shifts attention from one dancer to the other, repeating continuously. The dos amigos have been laid to rest, side by side, waiting for their next song.

KB Series - For the KB-1 thru KB-5, chrome "wings" were added on the sides of the grill, a wrap-around chrome piece on the front hood, a hood ornament and chrome lettering indicating the model designation below the International nameplate on each side of the hood. For the KB-6 and larger trucks, the only external changes were that the Triple Diamond badge was moved to the top of the grille chrome-work, and the model designations were added to the hood-side chrome trim. This old work truck was found near Trinidad, Colorado

    Reception

Along with the Artists Choice show at the SPACe Gallery in La Veta, we had an excellent time at the reception on May 27th. There was art, music, fellowship, hors d'oeuvres, and wine - how could you go wrong?

What a wonderful venue for an art show. We would really like to thank all the fine folks at the SPACe Gallery for allowing us to show our style of art to the public. Thank You! They have shows on a continuous basis so, be sure to visit their website and facebook page to keep up on all the fine exhibitions coming up.

Here are a few pictures from that evening.

    Taste of Lamar

On July 8th, Colorado Abandoned, along with Karen Voepel Photography, will be displaying our photography at the Lamar Chamber of Commerce "Taste of Lamar " Event that will be held at the Lamar Elks Lodge located at 28157 US-287 in Lamar, CO.

For this event, we will be donating $50.00 from each picture purchased that evening to the family of little Miss Ansley Herrera to help with her treatments and care. We sincerely wish Ansley a complete and speedy recovery.
