Colorado Abandoned Newsletter V14

Hello & Welcome to
The Colorado Abandoned Newsletter!
V14

Summer Is Here!

Here we are in the middle of summer and the flowers are blooming, the thunderstorms are rumbling through our area and it's a perfect time to be getting out and shooting some more abandoned images for Colorado Abandoned, and we hope to get a chance to do that very soon.

Lots of stuff going on.. the Capturing the Abandoned Podcast is now at Episode 6, our upcoming book has already been printed and is working its way to market, Lex has been cranking out some new YouTube Music Videos for his upcoming album and a few other fun things are going on as well. These Are Exciting Times For Us for Sure!

Anyway, on with the Newsletter!

On Summer

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."
~John Lubbock

"If summer had one defining scent, it'd definitely be the smell of barbecue."
~Katie Lee

I love summertime more than anything else in the world. That is the only thing that gets me through the winter, knowing that summer is going to be there.
~Jack McBrayer

"Let a man walk ten miles steadily on a hot summer's day along a dusty English road, and he will soon discover why beer was invented."
~Gilbert K. Chesterton

"The grill is the summer equivalent of a fireplace; everyone gravitates to it."
~Katie Lee

Vintage Vehicle

It is amazing how some of our favorite images come from the side of the road when we least expect it. There are some real treasures out there that we come across traveling the Highways and Byways of mostly southeast Colorado.

Colorado Abandoned Book Update

On becoming a reality...

As we put this newsletter together, the books have been printed and are making their way to market.

The book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and is listed as a Prime offer.  You can find it HERE!

It is scheduled for public release on Monday, July 29, 2019.

Capturing the Abandoned Podcast

We have had the Great Honor to have had a chance to interview some of the most talented Abandoned (Bando) photographers/Artists currently on Instagram (and other places) and we have a bunch more lined up. Their stories are fascinating, insightful and sometimes emotional.

We put together a Facebook Page for the podcast and you will find it HERE. You will be able to read the show notes for each guest/episode and get a chance to learn a little more about each one of them and their craft. We have no set schedule for releasing each episode but will post each new one as soon as it is ready to go.

You can download and/or follow the podcast wherever most podcasts are served, including: Anchor, Apple Podcasts, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Stitcher, RadioPublic, and Spotify.

If you are new to podcasts and need some help figuring out how to play them, check out this link from Wired Magazine - The Beginners Guide to Podcasts . or this one - How to Get Started Listening to Podcasts from the How To Geek website.

Lex to Drop a New CD!

Mr. Lex Nichols has been working for some time now on a new album titled "Turning Point" that he plans to release very soon. He has been putting some YouTube videos together for many of the songs and you can find them on his channel Here!
